Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of GateKeeper, a Shopify app built by 8th Origin LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using GateKeeper you agree to them.

The service

GateKeeper provides a storefront traffic firewall (country, IP, and threat-type blocking) and an order-rules engine that can flag, hold, or cancel new orders on your Shopify store based on rules you configure. Features vary by plan as described on the Plans page inside the app.

Your responsibilities

• You own your rules. GateKeeper enforces the rules you configure. You are responsible for deciding which countries, IPs, and order patterns to act on, and for the business consequences of those decisions — including orders your rules cancel and visitors your rules block.
• Legal compliance. You are responsible for ensuring your use of geographic or traffic blocking complies with the laws that apply to your business.
• Account. Keep access to your Shopify admin secure; anyone with access to your store's admin can change GateKeeper's rules.

Fair use & limits

GateKeeper is fail-open by design: if a check cannot complete, visitors are allowed and orders are left untouched rather than wrongly blocked. Fraud screening is probabilistic — we do not guarantee that every fraudulent order is caught or that no legitimate visitor is ever blocked by rules you set.

Billing

Paid plans are billed through Shopify's app billing on your Shopify invoice. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the Plans page or by uninstalling; Shopify's standard billing proration and refund rules apply.

Data

Our Privacy Policy describes exactly what GateKeeper reads and stores. Uninstalling the app removes the data we hold for your store.

Disclaimer & liability

GateKeeper is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, 8th Origin LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue from blocked visitors or cancelled orders. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using GateKeeper at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end the service for abuse, non-payment, or if required by Shopify or law; if we discontinue the app we will give installed merchants reasonable notice.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated to installed merchants.
